# Overlay maps

The same formats (WMS / WMTS / WFS / XYZ) are used in overlay maps. Adding the overlay maps is done exactly the same way as adding background map. The only differences are found when overlay map layer has been added to the project configuration.

Overlay map -section and its options

Once an overlay map is added, it is listed in the Project configuration. Name, Visibility and Ordering of the layer can be edited. Visibility or opacity can be changed by using a slider.

Map layer can also be deleted from the project, by clicking the trash bin. If there is a need to add more map layer, click **Add a new map** and proceed normally.
