# LifeCycle States

if both EcENTITY fields (lfcycst\_id or lfcycst\_name) have values, lfcycst\_id applies (lfcycst\_name is omitted) When lfcycstate cannot be reached from the current lfcycstate, error occurs. Possible reasons are:

* the transition from the current lfcycstate to the requested one is not configured in Vault
* lfcycstate is not defined in the lifecycle currently assigned to the Vault entity
