# 5.1 File version/revision publishing

On the “Behavior” tab is a new option to edit the entity version, from which the publication is performed.

![](/files/c7KdaFuLZj3ZOJjclUvb)

If the option is not checked, it is published from the version that comes in the job parameter – i.e. the standard method. If the option is checked, the version of the entity from which it will be published is before publication updated, as follows:

* When publishing an entity “FILE” the latest version of the file in the same revision in which the file was sent is taken.
* When publishing an entity “ITEM” the last version of the item in the same revision in which the item was sent is taken, but the last version of the file is no longer taken – the last version of item in the given revision is taken and version of files linked to this version of item are published.

The option is added due to "unwanted" updates for some variants of parallel tasks, when the document may be updated before publication, e.g. the revision table may be updated. To ensure the selection of the required publication, an option has been added.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://help.holixa.com/holixa-publisher4vlt/fundamentals/5-publishing-job-customization/5.1-file-version-revision-publishing.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
