Inventor parts and assemblies can be published to the STEP file. The publication settings are:
Application protocol
Tolerance
Set whether to include the sketches in the resulting STEP file
defend updates – model will be open, but there will be no update
Publishing application settings:
“Vault Inventor Server” – publishing will be running through Vault Inventor server, which is part of Vault client (licensed with Vault client).
“Inventor Application” – full Inventor.
