# 2.3.14 Specific setting for Inventor STEP module

Inventor parts and assemblies can be published to the STEP file. The publication settings are:

* Application protocol 
* Tolerance 
* Set whether to include the sketches in the resulting STEP file 
* defend updates – model will be open, but there will be no update 
* Publishing application settings: 
  * “Vault Inventor Server” – publishing will be running through Vault Inventor server, which is part of Vault client (licensed with Vault client). 
  * “Inventor Application” – full Inventor. 
* Publishing conditions, whether the publication is to be carried out: 
  * From the Standard models 
  * From a Sheetmetal models 
  * From a Standard assemblies 
  * From the Weldment assemblies
